Hidini 1.14 - Your Phone Is Now the Remote

Hidini 1.14 is out, and it adds a phone remote control. Point your phone’s camera at the code on your Mac, and the control opens in the phone’s browser. There is nothing to install and no account to make.

A Second Trackpad, In Your Hand

Hidini has always answered to the keyboard. Global hotkeys move the overlay, resize it, hide it and fire every feature without your hand leaving the keys.

The phone adds another way in. Connect it and the whole screen becomes a second trackpad, one that drives the overlay directly: drag to move the window, double tap to capture the screen, and press the same buttons the overlay’s own toolbar has.

What You Get

  • The whole phone screen is a trackpad for the hidden window. Double tap it to capture your screen.
  • The toolbar comes with it. Listen, Capture, Notes, Contrast and Translucent, plus Prev and Next for note groups.
  • Nothing to install. Your Mac serves the control page itself, so it opens in whatever browser the phone already has.
  • Nothing leaves your Wi-Fi. Your phone talks to your Mac directly. No server of ours in the middle, and no account.

Also in 1.14

  • Shortcuts can be left unset. Any shortcut in Settings under Hotkeys can now be cleared instead of forced to a combination. Auto-Scroll ships unbound, which frees Cmd+Shift+D for whatever else you had on it.
  • Notes gained a code block button in the formatting bar. It wraps whatever your selection touches and unwraps it again if it is already code, with syntax colours on short snippets too.
  • Fixed: rebinding a shortcut could bring back the conflict you had just solved, because the displaced action reclaimed its default on the next launch.
