Show or hide in one press
One shortcut toggles the whole overlay. It disappears instantly when you want a clean screen and returns exactly where it was, with everything still in place.
Move without the mouse
Arrow shortcuts slide the overlay left, right, up, or down. Park it next to your code, tuck it in a corner, or bring it back to the middle of the screen in one press.
Resize on the fly
Grow the overlay when you need to read a longer answer, shrink it when you just want it nearby. Two keys, no dragging window corners mid-conversation.
Trigger any feature
Listening, full screenshot, area screenshot, translucent mode: each one fires from its own shortcut. The AI is already working before your hands leave the keyboard.
Works from any app
The hotkeys are global. Whether you are in the browser, your editor, or a video call, Hidini responds without you switching windows or breaking focus.
Remap everything
Every shortcut can be changed in Settings. If a combination clashes with your editor or just feels wrong, bind it to whatever your fingers already know.
Built for moments when seconds count
Interviews do not pause while you fix your screen layout. When the coding exercise opens and the overlay is sitting right where your editor needs to be, you have about a second to deal with it. One arrow shortcut and it slides out of the way while you keep talking.
The same goes for reading. A longer AI answer is easier on a bigger overlay, so grow it for a moment, read, and shrink it back. In the video above that whole dance takes a few keystrokes: nudge it right, drop it down, hide it, bring it back to center. No dragging, no hunting for window edges.
Shortcuts that fit your hands
Defaults are a starting point, not a rule. Maybe cmd shift H is already sacred in your editor, or you want everything on one side of the keyboard so a single hand can reach it during a call. Open Settings and rebind any shortcut to whatever feels natural.
That matters more than it sounds. Under pressure you fall back on muscle memory, and a shortcut you chose yourself is one you will actually hit on the first try. Set it up once, practice it twice, and controlling Hidini stops being something you think about at all.

Common questions
Can I control all of Hidini without a mouse?
Yes. Showing, hiding, moving, resizing, and centering the overlay all have shortcuts, and so do the main features like listening, screenshots, and area screenshots. In a normal session you never need to reach for the mouse.
Do the hotkeys work while I am in another app?
They do. The shortcuts are global on macOS, so Hidini reacts even when your browser, editor, or meeting app has focus.
Can I customize the shortcuts?
Yes. Every hotkey can be remapped in Settings, so you can avoid collisions with your other tools and keep combinations your muscle memory already knows.
Will pressing hotkeys show anything on the shared screen?
No. The overlay stays invisible to screen sharing while you move and resize it. The key presses shown in the demo video are added for illustration; on a real call nobody sees anything at all.
Why does this matter in an interview?
Because fumbling with windows mid-answer is exactly the kind of thing that breaks your flow. A quick keystroke moves the overlay out of the way or brings a hint closer while you keep talking and keep eye contact.
